The only real reason to buy it is if you can't afford or don't want the VG278HE and want a matte display. Asus will be releasing the 144hz VG248QE in the near future.

Interesting. Though, I'm not sure I really want 27" for only 1080p. I don't really want to have to move my head to see the other side of the screen.

120hz is great and all, but when the response time is so crap on that display, let alone, the input lag, you miss so many frames on it. So many people bought into a product's hype by technical specs as opposed to real world performance. frown.gif

The XL2420T has near zero input lag by my understanding. One of the fastest 120hz panels out there. The only problem is colour accuracy and production. It does an okay job once calibrated (google for calibrated settings). But yeah, it's probably the best gaming 120hz panel out there outside of the old viewsonic that is discontinued now. frown.gif

Don't sit a foot away, problem solved.

Using reviewers calibrated settings on a different display=guessing, not calibration.

All of the Asus 120hz displays have better overdrive (less-no ghosting) and equally as low input lag as the BenQ while sporting better colours. The Samsung's have 0 ghosting but 13ms of input lag.

I don't really sit a foot away, but 27" is still larger than I would like for semi-competitive FPS. I'm not so much concerned about colour accuracy, as I am with how fast it is - both input lag and ghosting.
Thanks for all the info - it would've taken me all night to find the specifics you delved out thumb.gif

I am planning on Picking up a Benq TX later today from Tigerdirect. I have been trawling 120hz.net & overlord for about a month ,and not much going on. I wanted a Yamakasi or tempest ,but if I'm only using a single GTX680,would it be worth it to just get a 60Hz catleap from some unknown entity from S Korea, and hope it doesnt have like 50 dead pixels ? Is there a better gaming monitor for $450 than the Benq? If there is ,I will get it .

It is a great monitor, it was designed to give you a competitive advantage while gaming online. If you read up on the reviews you can see why the colors are intentionally altered to give you an advantage. If you want the fastest on the market right now, this monitor is for you. thumb.gif

Because there are currently no good 120hz panels. Either they have low input lag and high pixel response time, or high input lag and low pixel response time.

There is no reason to upgrade with current TN panels.

Enjoy your 120hz IPS, until OLED or till there's a 120hz+ monitor with both low input lag and pixel response time. By low I'd say 3ms or lower in both.

Wait until this is done http://www.overclock.net/t/1305678/home-made-arduino-scanning-led-backlight-to-simulate-480hz-or-960hz-in-a-120hz-lcd and get a monitor with it installed/DIY.

Give me your 120 hz IPS, i'll gladly use it instead of my TN 120hz.
