Need help planning a new computer

Thread Starter
Okay, I am moving to Australia in a couple of months, and once there, will have the money to build a good computer again. My budget is around 1700 dollars, though I can deviate a little bit from it.

The hard part? Apparently the supply down there of good quality parts isn't as good as other countries. My fiance has shown me the catalogs of the shops around her, and the selection is abysmal.

So, if anyone is in Australia, can you help me either find a good parts supplier, or give me a buildout that keeps that budget?

My only requirements are I want it to be i7, and have two or more GPU slots. I figure to start with, we can go with a single 670, and add more later on when I have more money.

Thanks in advance!!!

Left you enough room to get yourself a nice monitor (unless you'd like our help picking out one) and the 750W PSU should leave you enough room to crossfire two 7950's in the future. A nice 500W unit would be more than enough for one 7950 if you choose to go that way. As for your questions, PcCaseGear and Mwave are basically Australia's equivalent to Newegg and NCIX.

Oh and welcome! smile.gif

Okay, those are some decent looking options, though I would go away from the ATI card for Nvidia...always had good results from Nvidia, and never any from ATI.

I've been on OC.net for a while, but I have only been to Australia for work stuff before. I can't wait to live there.

The prices from pc case gear are a LOT more reasonable than the place my fiancee has been buying from. How's their customer service if you get a defective part?
