I know there's a big thread on this like 5 below, but that's like 20 pages long of nonsense that somebody would have to read to get to my question =D

Anyhow I just played ToI and I thought it was pretty fun even though other people say it usually turns people away from the game. I'm planning to pick up the game this weekend while I'm home (won't be able to play it till I'm back at school again though). I'm confused about a couple things though:

I find it kind of odd that only the good side gets archers. My favorite class in every MMO I've played is always the ranged stealther, and if I was gonna play with chopes and them I think they're dark so....

Also, I'd like to know what the max range you can get with a ranger is in the game? I'd really love to play another character like my old ranger from DAOC, who could get up onto elevated ground with a slow recurve bow and shoot just about to clip distance (and 50% farther than that with the longshot talent, to finish off the runners who thought they got away ) But it seems like the EQ ranger is a bit more like the WoW hunter in that respect - my beginner bow only had 2-25meter range on it. It's basically a caster that uses arrows instead of spells.

I'm asking about this because I plan to play on a PvP server and pretty much do nothing but pvp I heard you can level just by getting pvp kills which is sweet, although I spose I'd need to do some of the PvE quests too to get gear and such.

...yeah

You cant really just pvp unless you spend like 5 months pvping. You will need to level up with groups and such. Archers do get better weapons later on with higher range and stuff.

One more thing I can't seem to figure out - when people are talking about t5, t7, or x5, x7, etc, people are talking about tiers in raid dungeons right?

And, does that mean tiers after you hit the level cap, or is t5 level 50-59, t6 level 60-69, etc?

tiers are for level requirements for armor or rares and stuff like that. t5 is 50-59 as you said and so forth.

You can go harvesting and find a t5 rare, give it to a tailor, and he can give you a peice of t5 rare armor. Thats how its used. Btw, use other thread -_- too many theads for same purpose.
