Please help me choose my GTX680 4gb.

Thread Starter
OK, so I plan on buying a new GPU for Xmas. I will go GTTX680 4gb.

I hesitate between these models:

- EVGA Classified
- EVGA FTW+
- MSI Twin Forzr III / OC
- Gigabyte n680 OC
- Asus Direct CUII

It's mainly for gaming purposes, Ilike to tweak and overclock but I'm not into LN2 or super duper OC for bench puposes. My choice would be the MSI but I can't find any review...

Please help me out guys.

I would search for reviews on the MSI 2GB model.

It is the same card...with 2GB more RAM.

Hope this helps,

Unless you play Skyrim with tons of mods, the 4GB 680 would be slightly overkill. Your choice in that though and if you want a 4GB variant, go for it smile.gif My choice would be the EVGA FTW. The classifieds are great cards also but were aimed at overclockers (they had a EVbot plug socket for over volting but no longer do).

EVGA is always good. I would go for the classified.

4gb is overkill for one monitor. Just thought I'd add that the 7970 is right now better and costs less.

Just don't go Asus because their quality sucks and Europe is not their cs priority. So if you need to rma, it takes around 2-3 months for a new card.

2 GB = MSI GTX 680 Lightning

4 GB = MSI GTX 680 TF III

Basically I'm hesitating between the EVGA FTW or the MSI TFIII. In another thread someone said EVGA cherry picked their GPUs more carefully for their FTW models, is it true?

I would be sceptical about that and maybe the EVGA Rep will confirm if they do or don't.

I have gone only evga for my last 4 cards. My 680 gtx sc+ edition is amazing. Its only the 2gb edition but I would recommend 4gb editon ftw by evga. It can only be better and I cant imagine better out of one gpu. Just my little input.

This deal is settled.

I wanted two EVGA GTX680 4GB but there was only one left so I had to order two EVGA GTX680 FTW+ 4gb.

These were the last two announced in stock.

This thread was not technical but it can be marked as (resolved) by a mod. smile.gif
