Testing
NZXT Kraken X 40 was set on the processor Core i5-3570K. Motherboard ASUS Maximus (V) Gene. Crucial RAM the Ballistix Tracer BLT4G3D1869DT2TXOB Tactical (1866 MHz 9-9-9-27.1 k, 2 x 4 Gb). Video card Point of View GeForce GTX 470 EXO. SSD is a Plextor PX-256M5P.
At first, the processor was tested on constant frequency 3800 Mhz (Turbo). Then razgonan up to 4500 Mhz frequency. Testing conducted at the LinX with tasks around 30000 (6900-7000 MB). Performance may vary slightly, since slightly different volumes and in the process sometimes performed some action.
In both cases, testing was conducted in the three operation modes of fan is Silent, Extreme and Manual (going to exhibit 100% speed vrŝeniâ fan). Fan was the outside of the radiator. Move it to the opposite side has not produced any effect (tested in all three modes), so the location is ignored. The second fan FX-140, unfortunately it was not, therefore, all tests were run with a single. In General, there is a FN-140RB, but because he did not match the speeds of kompoektnomu, then using it I refused. Indoors 20 degrees and two yards from the stand light draught. Temperatures are very hot core.

Interesting. Can't wait for reviews to see how the X60 compares to the H100i since the X60 will be ~$139 whereas the h100i can be had for $115 in Canada often on sale in the $100 range. Should be interesting.

Even if it shaves off another 5c, I think people will stay with the corsair band because of the customer service and warranties.

Also it's kind of tried and tested, people will probably have loyalty to corsair
post #4 of 167
I like NZXT's because they use a SATA cable for power. Innovation right there, if you ask me. I hated Corsair's Molex.
Edit: seems that with Corsair's new H80i coolers, Corsair is now using the SATA power cable.

Techncially speaking, the Corsair warranty doesn't cover hardware damage post cooler leak, or so I've read. However, we do know they take extra steps to try and help users out when it was their product that failed and consequently cause more harm.

NZXT may be the same, or they may just follow their warranty terms to the letter which are the same as Corsair, no hardware replacement / reimbursement / partial reimbursement.

Considering that the H100i and even the H80i still have those grinding sound issues, not all but some, it leaves a good spot for NZXT to walk in, offer a greater product with comparable customer support.

A more clear cut warranty regarding both company's products after a leak would really put most of the worries at ease. Being stuck in the grey area is never a fun thought.

I have the H100 and it's running strong without any grinding noises so I'm probably going to stick with it until my next build or if I decide it's time to get my feet wet in custom loop cooling...hopefully not actually getting my feet wet though wink.gif Glad to see some competition though, may drive prices down on all of them soon.

The hoses have to go the other way...

oh fail..The retainer screw doesn't let you pull the barbs around to flip them in the correct direction
