Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad idea to go with 15mm.

I just found it really funny that a company's new hardware piece can't be used with most of thier own products. (Hence the "lulz" picture.)

Don't forget that the X40 will fit almost all cases too. It's only the X60 that I was commenting on though. tongue.gif

Hey guys!
I am considering the X60 to replace my Noctua NH-D14 for my super hot i7 920 biggrin.gif
I also got a local selling a Thermaltake 2.0 Extreme Liquid for $80 maybe even $70.
What you guys think? Worth doing this for lower temps or not gonna get that much better?

Wow it sucks that the 20mm spacing killed it for me...
Just found out that the Corsair H110 also has a 20mm spacing...
So I might be buying this and borrowing a drill so it seems.... Great...

PS: This is being put into an Thermaltake Armor Plus case.

Your right! I can't remember where I read it but obviously most of been me misreading it or something but your right, the X60 has a 15mm spacing which will fix perfectly at the bottom of my Thermaltake Armor plus case without drilling! Only thing I think I'll be forced to do is have the fans first then the rad on top so that it clears a metal bar my case has but that doesn't matter because I will be using a push pull configuration. Well no drilling for me!

By super hot, what numbers are u referring to?

My 920 @ 3.8 100% load was 65 and below on all cores using a lesser are cooler than yours, Vigor Monsoon III, all while being insides a tiny Antec 300.

If your temps are higher, it's not your current cooler being the problem.

You cannot compare temps without first of all having the most important variable...room temp. wink.gif
Then of course, voltage. As you may know going from 3.8 to braking the 4Ghz barrier with the 920 usually requires a drastic increase of voltage.
In any case, with the Thermaltake now I only barely get to 71C when running Intel CPU burner over and over so under normal conditions it is very cold running and what I love about it is , well the clean look it has.
I went from a stage of loving my huge Air cooler to now liking a much smaller and cleaner look. Maybe I am getting old biggrin.gif

My point is still valid.

It wasn't the air cooler that was the problem.
Btw nice job on breaking 4+ with that evga board, I have the same one I believe and was unable to do so.
