3570k vs i7 930 - Page 4

I just upgraded my main computer from a i7 960 @ 4ghz to a i7 3770k @ 4.5ghz with a Z77X-UD5H board words can not explain how much faster my computer is. I'm also on the look out for a good board at a decent price for my i5 2500k I'm leaning toward the UD3H.

That is good to hear!

I just had to send in my 6950 because of coil whine. Thought it was a good idea while it still has warranty. I did some research on Haswell and some people are saying that it could offer a significant performance boost over Ivy, but others are saying arond 10%. Don't think I will wait for Haswell, but it made me delay my purchase a bit. Will wait a couple of days until I'm 100% sure.

if you wait too long you're gonna regret it. just like what happened with my two gtx 480's. I waited too long and I had a hard time selling it. I sold it dirt cheap it was killing me inside. don't wait too long. do it while your system still has a decent resale value. just my 2 cents

like what I said before I upgraded from an i7 950, gigabyte x58-ud3h and a corsair 6gb kit 1600 cl8. I only sold it for 1/3 the price I got it brand new but hey. the i5 3570k and a decent board and ram is quite cheaper today.I only spent so little with this upgrade but the performance increase was awesome thumb.gif

You are right, put my 930 up for sale, so it's going anyway. Just waiting now for some more sales to go live. After some additional reading, Haswell doesn't seem that interesting. Mostly deciding on board now. I love the design on the Asrock, and not so much the Gigabyte, so I think I will go with the Asrock after all.

my oath you should, its a quality board with quality VRM's and is definitely worth it over Asrock boards due to Gigabyte quality.

I owned that Board and it had some issues at release via Bios which have now been long fixed.

The board is built like a tank and should last someone a very long time.

You should also note that people who tend to say "no wait for the next one" tend to have 2 generation old hardware in their sig rig.. yessir.gif
1 Generation old tend to say "if you can wait"
Newest of the new "Don't wait!"
