restart problem

Thread Starter
I've recently had problems restarting my computer. When I go to Start>Turn Off Computer> Restart.... Windows logs off, saves the settings and finally exits windows, but afterwards the computer idles and doesn't do anything, it won't restart... I have to manually click the reset button on my case. The monitor switches from active to inaticve (green led to orange led) and
I can still hear all the fans running

Same thing happens when I try the command shutdown -r -t 01 from the run menu.

I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2.
Problem was noticed 2-3 days ago for the first time.

any help will be appreciated,
thanks!
