Air cooling cpu vs liquid cooling (eq corsair h80 etc) - Page 3

I wouldn't consider 21-37dBA loud. Corsair H100 is 55dBA full speed; Silver Arrow SB-E is 38dBA full speed.
20dBA is rustling leaves, sound of a mosquito, a quiet whisper (normal whisper 30dBA)
37dBA is loud whisper,
40dBA is babbling brook, quiet office, library
40-50dBA is hum of refrigerator
55dBA is coffee percolator

guys love the cooler except im afraid i haven't got the right set up. At the moment i have fan at the front on the case pulling in air then one at the back pulling out. Then the cooler which im not sure is to how it is set up i have it installed so that the fans face towards the floor. I noticed that the case is quite hot at the top. Could i get some advice on how to set up my fans. Also, i would like to over clock my cpu by to be frank have no idea where to start. I've looked through the sections but im still a bit confused.

The cooler exhaust needs a vent to exhaust out of case. If the cooler is blowing exhaust toward top you need top exhaust vent/s for it to get out of case. If you do not exhaust all of the heated cooler exhaust it will mix with your cool cooler intake air and not only be heating up your case but your CPU and everything else in the case.

Edit: CM690 midi tower but what fans do you have in what places? What fans means make and model please. thumb.gif

Look at the fan. The side of the fan with the wiring running out of the motor is the side air is coming out of.

/\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ says it all.thumb.gif

Side with just fan blade pulls air in and side with wires and brackets to hold motor in middle is where air comes out. biggrin.gif

Bet fan in top helps cool things down.
And this time of year you need to start doing all you can to keep cool down there. thumb.gif
