Windows 8 upgrade question

hi guys,

i have just used the upgrade assistant and it says that Secure Boot isn't compatible with your PC
Your PC's firmware doesn't support Secure Boot so you won't be able to use it in Windows 8.

what is secure boot? can i still upgrade to windows 8 without it ?

can i turn on secure boot in my asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 motherboard and if so does it even matter ?

can anyone answer these questions for me plz smile.gif

Yes, you can still upgrade even if Secure Boot is unsupported. Here's more info on it on MS's site.

I got the same message before I installed W8, but I was still able to install it just fine with no issues.

i think i have seen the UEFI setting in my bios somewhere, should i turn it on or just leave it ?

UEFI is the type of firmware that your motherboard has (the other is BIOS) so you already have it. You're good to go!
