2nd GTX 570 or GTX "770"?

Hey guys i am questioning my judgement.. Right now i have a GTX 570 and i was looking at getting a second one for SLI for around $200 but my single one is doing a pretty good job right now but i just dont know.. I have always been a one GPU man but i want MOAR FRAMES. biggrin.gif

My other option is to hold out for nvidias next model of cards which im assuming is the 700 series? i dont know for sure i have seen really any news about it. If i waited i would just get a 770 and be a happy camper but that also involves waiting.. lol.

Anywho what do you guys think? I always enjoy others opinions thumb.gif

yeah a GTX 570 is quite fast. unless you have a desperate need to upgrade you can wait.

Hold on for the next generation. I came from a 570 to a 690, and even though they are night and day different, the new 600 and 700 series kepler GPUs are totally something else.

If you really have the itch get a 670 as I could never get BF3 to run on ultra with 60FPS using my 570 2.5 GB edition.

Other than that there is not a single game out there where you need anything more (unless you are doing surround gaming which i doubt with just a 570). With BF4 coming out next year, thats a game that will put a 600/700 series cards to use.

I seriously doubt well see a Bf4 soon, it will come out at least in 2014

I stand corrected, I should have said the beta is "as of now" scheduled for late 2013.

Which probably means holidays 2013... DICE likes the 2 year flip flop.

EDIT:

That said- I play BF3 on a 480 @ 40+FPS all ultra settings, 4x AA ...seems fine to me playing that way. Also I am at 2560x1440.

I am waiting for a GTX 780... graphics cards are a nice 3-5 year upgrade... I have the feeling the 700 series is going to mark the beginning of a decline in the overall ramp that has been GPU processing power- we've seen 10-20% boost for each new product (Nvidia and AMD) - I think those upgrades are going to be more like 5-10% soon.
