Alright guys, fresh install of W7 with SP1, motherboard BIOS are updated, vcore is set to 1.2 instead of auto for the sake of testing. My gooberfloops went up a bit, but IBT still reports instability. I'm going to try tweaking around in BIOS for a bit and seeing if I can improve it.
Edit: Changed a few things, still unstable. Here's what I changed:
PWM Phase Control > eXm Perf
Vcore Voltage Response > Fast
Vcore Loadline Calibration > Medium
CPU Clock Ratio > 40 (4.00 GHz)
Hyper-Threading > Disabled
CPU Enhanced Halt(C1E) > Disabled
C3/C6 State Support > Disabled
CPU EIST Function > Disabled
Turbo > Disabled
I've also tried leaving turbo on and changing the Turbo Power Limit to 120, but that resulted in no change.
Almost always reports instability after the second run.
Still getting horrible results from Passmark's CPU bench.
Worried that I have a dud, guys.
Shouldn't my temps be higher? What would cause this sort of instability, if not the RAM (which I've already tested)?
Edit: For whatever reason, it now seems (?) stable on default BIOS settings. I'm going to play around with it a bit to make sure that it is, first, though.
Edit again: Nope... seems "more" stable but doesn't consistently pass IBT. Temps never go over 65 Celsius...Edited by richardstallman - 11/30/12 at 7:19pm
