Edit: Not saying there's anything wrong with the bundle, by they way. It's their bundle and they can do what they want to, and I'm certainly not complaining considering what a great deal it is. But I can still see where people are coming from who'd prefer DRM free to DRM if given the choice.
You might have an argument if Steam wasn't used by millions, but it is. For 90%+ of the people, it's not an issue to use Steam for the games.

Bottom line is you don't HAVE to pay into the Humble Bundle. If they change it up once in awhile with a major publisher (who really don't want to not have DRM on their games, for obvious reasons) and provide higher-profile games, I see that as good. It's for charity anyway, so no matter what, people shouldn't complain about how the games are distributed. Take it or leave it.

I don't really disagree with what you wrote. I was just pointing out that public perception tends to be different when it comes to Steam vs. other digital distribution DRM services. Basically, if you want to be all pro-DRM when a Steam bundle comes, that's fine, but keep that in mind if exclusive content makes its way to the competition. I'd really love to see the reaction if they were to ever have an Origin only bundle.

I honestly couldnt care less either way.

Don't like it? Don't buy it. Shocker.

Only in this case, you could buy it anyway and gift it to someone less stuck up, who will certainly appreciate it. We OCNers still have friends, right? And a freebie section?

Never mind the charity options. We gamers obviously don't care about giving video games to ill children. Owait.

Again, I'm not pro DRM in any sort of way, but anyone who tries to pretend that a deal like this is the end of the world because of some pre existing games which already have pre existing DRM on the giftable gamers for which you set your own price and can chose exactly who gets that money, is just looking for attention. Doesn't matter who's DRM/service.

You got me, Darksiders doesn't exist. Because the only thing lower on the gaming ladder than a GTA clone is a GoW clone. So yes ...I was actually ignoring it.

... but I do own and have played some of SR:3rd.

Wait..you think Darksiders is a God of War clone? That's pretty dense. I could see the typical "Zelda Clone" people throw around, even a Fable clone at best. You really should try a game instead of mindlessly bashing on it. You never know, you could actually like it.

Sure seems like an over-the-top, button-mashing melee, GoW clone. Actually though ...I've not been much for God of War after the first two on PS2. I put down GoW3 after only a few hours.

Dante's Inferno would be a better comparison if you would like, but Darksiders reminds me of a mix between Dante's Inferno, GoW, and some of Prototype. Sure it's based off of it, but it's still a unique game in the same respect that the others that I listed are. You guys get so butt-hurt over stupid crap.

And somehow, someone will find a way to make this out to be the end of the world. How dare they add yet another successful AAA game to the package for free, those bastards!

PS - they also added a red faction DLC and Titan Quest, and the success of humble bundle had driven up THQ's stock by what was it... 40%? Oh, and it prompted them to give Metro away for free for all you losers whining on and on about it being part of the humble bundle and having to pay a buck for it. So much for this being the end of the humble bundle, the end of THQ, and the end of the world. Oh, still has DRM? yep, still evil!rolleyes.gif
