Are my speakers dead?

Hey guys, as you known I've had issues with my machine of sound randomly disappearing and then reappearing in 2 - 40 seconds later. I've played with drivers software and ect.

I did another test today, once the sound cut out I unplugged the green audio jack and plunged in a headset and it worked there was sound, I plugged the speakers back in and nothing. So when the sound disappeared on speakers it worked fine using headset.

Speakers: Logitech 5.1 x-540 Surround system

Does this means that my speakers are dying? (Any other tests I can do to make sure)
Thanks smile.gif

If you are not changing any settings while switching to headphones from your speakers, than I believe your speakers are acting up

Check your cables. Maybe you have damaged cables and they don't connect well all the time?

Or maybe the entire thing is dead.

But anyhow, my money is on dying speaker setup.

Can you connect the speakers to another system? Not just PC, but perhaps TV, mp3 player etc???

I just dont think that it can be anything else but speakers being broken but you never know.

Usually I go to newegg do a search and list it via best rating biggrin.gif

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100008225&IsNodeId=1&Description=5%201%20speakers&name=Home%20Audio%20Speakers&Order=RATING&Pagesize=20

If a product averages 5 stars than I believe in the community redface.gif

These look interesting

There is a saving going on as well.

Thanks for that smile.gif But I need something in UK with budget of £70 - £90. And having a volume remote like this:

Sorry for being so picky, the X540 had 140W output but I don't think I need that much any more as I never had my volume past 50%
