Have Question on Wireless Network.

Thread Starter
I have a wireless network setup and working. The wifes system and laptop has a wireless NIC, the desktop has a Netgear 108 Wireless NIC and the laptop has a 54 wireless card plugged into the port.
My system is hardwired into the router.
The question for me is, would I be better off disconting the hard wire to the router, and installing a Netgear 108 NIC into a PCI slot and using this setup instead of the hard wired hookup.
The reason I am asking is, the wife's system is booting in less than half the time that my system is booting, and shutting down is the same.
My system has an AMD X2-4800 cpu and hers has an A64 3500 Venice.
When I first installed the X2 processor, I had an Abit AV8 just like the wife has, and my system booted extremely quick.
After about a month of running the AV8, it died for some reason.
I purchased a DFI LP NF4 Sli-D MB, setup this mainly because I already had memory that would work.
The only other component I needed was a PCIe video card.

I am just wondering if I were to setup my system with a wireles NIC, would that eleviate the long time in booting?
I have looked at the event log and the only thing I see is code 1001-1002 app.
I do not see what this is linked to and do not know if the network is linked to it.
If you know enough about such things, please jump in and make suggestions. Thanks in advance, BJ

Me personally I would hardwire it, but sometimes that can be hard to do depending on how your house is setup.

Even if it doesnt help boot times, if you have a home network setup and transfer files at all it will increase the speed of that as well as make your connection more reliable.
