Double posts (Resolved)

Thread Starter
Twice in the past hour or two, when I've clicked "reply" as you do to normally make a post, a "double post" has been created.

I see four posts initially (!), but after refreshing only two of them stick.

Don't know if I have much more info then that tongue.gif, but I thought I'd post it anyways in case it's the start of something...

Google chrome/ windows 8. No extensions/plugins/apps.

This happened to me a lot. I click once and it takes so long so I click again and 2 or 3 pop up all of a sudden.

Not sure at this point tongue.gif. hasn't happened again, so maybe the servers were just glitchy yesterday. I know I was only clicking the reply button once.

Yea its weird becuase sometimes it just start doing it out of no where and its annoying as hell lol, it happens in my build logs.... messes everything up. I did some debugging monitoring on chrome while posting and it seems as if its the OCN server because its all normal on my end...... thinking.gif

I've been seeing lots of these double posts ever since, so whatever is causing them still happens. Not really sure what we could do to help pinpoint the problem though.

Can as ask you some general questions, they are related to this thread and I think it would help people:

Is it ok to "Double Post" im the means of posting in a thread in rescission not combining. For example I comment on three different users comments, all in the same thread but I dont combine them I have three separate posts with the quote and comment........ I dont see any thing in the TOS about this and I get people complaining about this sometimes, I dont understand why!? It is easier to understand if posting separate for separate comments in chronological order. Generally speaking isant that what a thread is, a active discussion......?

Second question is how do you delete posts? I have read alot on this and havent figured it out yet, I am a avid user and I still caint figure it out lol thinking.gif

You're supposed to use the multi quote feature to respond to multiple people. Double posts are only okay if 24 hours or more has passed, or if it's an accident (obviously tongue.gif).

You can't delete posts, but you can report your own post for a moderator to delete it.

Oh ok, but my issue with the muli quote thing is that people post at different times and I read things at different times so I read something comment on it then I see something else and comment on it. So how would I combine those? Because If I edit my last post to combine then it is left at that position in the tread and then it confuses things even more for other people, not to mention in the TOS it warns of editing posts too much...... thinking.gif
