URGENT!!!!!!!!! Quadro 2000 vs Quadro 600 vs GTX 580

So im on the hunt for a graphics card for a rig that can handle working on editing large google sketch-up files, Then be able to seamlessly rotate and "walk through" the file in high def.

Specs will be:
3770k (Overclocked)
16gb ram
240gb SSD

It would of course be used for Internet, word processing, and a auto-cad based landscape program. It would be used by several people in an office and run a 55 inch tv in the boardroom to show clients their sketch-up model. Right now we use one of the guys gaming laptop he paid 2 grand for. It's alright for building but isn't all that smooth showing a large model at high res. it would be used with 2 monitors running different programs (one the 3d drawing and the other on the internet looking Up info) then at presentation time it would run only the big screen located in a different room

Would I benefit from a Quadro card? Or will the 580 satisfy my needs? will the Quadro 600 be better than a 580?

I'm hoping some other people respond to this, and I'm hoping folks will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 580 would actually suit you better.

The Quadro 2000 and the Quadro 600 only have a 128 bit memory interface, while the 580 has 320-384 bit memory interface (depending on the brand/model you buy), as well as nearly 5 times the CUDA cores. I would think these two major differences would make the 580 better than either Quadro (but like I said, if I'm wrong, someone please correct me)

Bump, can someone confirm what I said? Haha

From what I've heard, Quadro graphics cards aren't meant for gaming; they are just for 3D modelling, animation and rendering programs. Geforce is for gamers. With that said, get the Quadro it's going to perform better on your case.

Here are the Sketch-up requirements... http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=36208&ctx=cb&src=cb&cbid=3a9ukw7d17mo

Basically all you need is a GPU that is 100% OpenGL compliant... http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114278&ctx=cb&src=cb&cbid=uz2d02kzre6k&cbrank=2

In all honesty, you do not need a workstation GPU to use Sketch-up...I know I don't use one and my unlocked 6950 does the job just fine thumb.gif I use Sketch-up for architectural work when not using 3D Studio-Max for final presentation work.

Sounds like you need to do some configuration to your settings. I had provided you a link that actually helps you troubleshoot...Go here... http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=114278&ctx=cb&src=cb&cbid=uz2d02kzre6k&cbrank=2

If you have questions, I strongly recommend you use the sketch-up forum. I'm fine with how sketch-up works for me (whenever I use it). When I have questions, I go to the forum and find people who uses sketch-up for the same purposes like me. I suggest you do the same...you'll get faster answers.
