Acbel R88 900W vs. TX850(used for 4 years+)

to make the long story short I was shopping for some PC parts for my vishera build.(i'm gonna buy the parts in a few hours) I was trying to get the best bang for buck PSU so I won't need to spend that much then I came across this gem. An Acbel R88 900W PSU (non modular) more than 50% off the regular price http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=21139719

for 3800 pesos(less than 90USD) that's pretty cheap from where I'm from and with that amount of money the best I could buy was a corsair GS600 http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=21084705

found a review with johnnyguru and the PSU looked good. not the best but fairly decent (it's also an 80+gold PSU in disguise) http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=210

without a doubt I'm gonna buy the PSU it's promo price and it's more than 50% off. my question now is if it's good enough to replace the PSU i have on my main rig?. I'm thinking of replacing the PSU on my main rig then use the TX850 on the vishera build. I've used this PSU for 4 years now and I figured the acbel PSU would be be a good replacement.

acbel 900w vs. tx850. any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA OCN

Very poor output quality, as seen from the Gigabyte version as well (Crmaris' review @ TPU)... but if you're aware of that and still determined to buy it... by all means, go ahead. smile.gif

i know it's not the best but this is an awesome deal imho. there's no question I'm gonna buy the PSU like what I said. what I'm asking is if it's good enough to replace the TX850 I had for four years in my main rig. if it's not then no biggie ima keep it on my vishera build

acbel 900 vs. corsair gs600 for the same price it's a no brainer right?

No, certainly not when you don't need half the power the unit provides... your Ivy Nyaa rig is a ~350W system in synthetics (below than in anything else)... why would you buy a grossly oversized, sub par unit for that?

the review said it was fine. oh well I guess I'm gonna stick with the TX850 on my main rig. the acbel PSU goes to the vishera rig. thanks

For 200 more PHP you can get a Seasonic G 550, much better than both units in question, sufficient for even a second 680 on your main rig. wink.gif

oh god I just realized I made a typo. the PSU that was for sale was an Acbel R88 900w not the Acbel R9 900w that I listed on the thread title. does that make any difference or the r88 is not any better than the r9?

uhmm like what I said a couple of times I'm shopping for a PSU for my vishera rig I was not asking for PSU recomendations for my main rig. I just figured maybe it was better than the TX850 I had for four years. if it isn't worth the trouble of messing with the cable management i did then I'm just gonna install it on the new build

edit:

and I bet the cables on that seasonic 550w PSU is not long enough for my old school gigabyte 3d aurora case

so does the acbel r88 900w suck as well? if it does then I'm probably gonna get something else then
