Nope, it isn't... the R9 is a slightly tweaked R88 (for marginal efficiency gains).

I'm perfectly aware of that... but the suggested swap between the TX and R88 can be applied to the G 550 as well..... and more so, your vishera rig is a ~450W system at full loaf, it will work perfectly fine with the G 550 too.
But I see you prefer gross overkill so here are two excellent units in the same price range (and with huge amounts of useless power to boot):
XFX BE 750 @ 4000 PHP
TT XT 775 @ 4000 PHP

like what I said I've used the TX850 for 4 years now (dunno if you missed that) I've used this PSU for different setups like 1090T + 5970+ 8800 ultra(physx) and an i7 950 with gtx 480 SLI both and they were all overclocked. I know you know a lot about power supplies but don't assume everyone else are idiots rolleyes.gif it was just very well priced and I thought it was a decent PSU I guess I was wrong

the seasonic PSU you posted doesn't have 4 pci-e power connectors that I need for both the gtx 670 and 470 btw

I sincerely appreciate the recommedations. (although the links youi posted are dead now coz it's been well over a year)

thanks for the info with the acbel PSU. I'm probably gonna get something like a GS700 or some reputable PSU that has the necessary cables that I need. thanks. Im gonna avoid acbel psu's for personal builds from now on

Absolutely no reason to be offended. wink.gif

ps. I understand that the 470 is used as a PhysX card, which means it can work off the PCIe slot alone (that's ~40W card).
