SanDisk Sansa Clip+ Rockbox Broked :(

So I have my Clip+ set up at work to run 24/7 so that everyone at the lab can listen to music as we have no player here that has good radio reception and our lab won't replace the broken ones. I might be looking into just buying a new clip and switching out the microSD and set it up again; but maybe the old player can be fixed?

I had it rockboxed and while switching songs it gave me a random error and it won't turn on anymore. I couldn't get a good look at the error as I was busy at the same time and just initially thought of restarting the device and going from there. Any ideas?

I have Rockbox on my old Sansa e240, and it crapped out on me recently. It would turn on, but would freeze after about 5 minutes, requiring me to take the battery out. I had to completely uninstall rockbox and reinstall it through my computer. There was an updated version though, which was nice.

I'd suggest taking the battery out for a few hours, then trying that. If it really won't turn on at all, then it may just be kaput. :-(

Well, the player has bitumen on it, so I'd rather not take it home and fix it that way. frown.gif

Yeah, it won't turn on at all. I don't think the battery is interchangable?

You might have to just wait a long time for the battery to drain itself, then.

I'm not sure what bitumen is, but when you wipe rockbox and re-install, it doesn't format the player or anything, it just completely removes all rockbox-related files, and then re-installs them.
