Win 7 freezes on splash screen after OC. - Page 2

You need to look up some tutorials on your specific board man. Each brand of board has different settings that need to be tweeked/turned on or off. ('specially stepping)

keep your nb frequency as close to 2000 as possible. and you gt close to 2600. Incase you may have over looked it, dont for get to manually set you ram speed and lower the speed it needed.

Oh alright gotcha. I tried voltages ranging from normal-1.475 with fsb set at 255, computer boots up now but freezes right when I start prime95. I'm hoping I have set something wrong in the bios and that this is not the max for my chip frown.gif This is really annoying.

Also side note, CPU temperatures are very low (it reads 17°C at idle) and when my computer freezes I don't get BSOD or whatever it just freezes and the harddrive activity L.E.D stop working.

NB frequency is at 2080 and I manually underclocked RAM too.

Easiest way i find to do the ram, is manually set it for the highest timings so say it rated to run at 1866 at 9-9-9-25@ 1.65v, then i set the ram timmings to that manually. voltage to 1.65. they i take it to run at 800 mhz instead. once the finall oc is found, they you can tighten the times or raid the speed of ram to get it runns as fast as it can.

Thanks, do you think improper ram timings is the cause of this? Or is it my PSU? It's max rated wattage is 550w and according to newegg power calculator my system at stock should be consuming around 475w
