Some info please on MSI 7970 Lighting. DVI- HDMI SOUND

Ok here is the deal I want this card like no other. Problem this is where you guys come in this may sound crazy but please bear with me. Can you please take your card and test the hdmi adapter that comes with it and tell me if you get sound through the dvi port. In the past certain cards would produce sound through the dvi I know this sounds crazy but its true some dvi can produce sound through hdmi cable like a dvi adapter to hdmi. If a lightining owner could test this it would be wonderful. Rep would be added for the help for sure... THANKS!

Yes, if you use the included adapter you will get sound through it.

As you can see I own the 7970 lightning smile.gif

Iknow for certain Some do and according to MSI web page if you read the info about the lightings it says hdmi mulitmedia sound and video. But you know how they put just anything on thier web pages lol.
Thanks I have to agree with you that it works most people can not believe sound will come through a dvi adapter to hdmi. I was shocked my self whe I first discovered this. Thanks much sir REP ADDED now if a few more will confirm my purchase will be made...

Well like I said, I OWN an MSI R7970 Lightning right now, and its in my PC. I also use a Panasonic 32" TV for a monitor, and when using a HDMI cable from the TV to the GPU with the adapter, sound will come through the TV from DVI.

This is what MSI means by "HDMI support" even though it doesn't have a HDMI port.

can you use the dvi to hdmi adapter on either port and get audio? because the way I would want it setup is to have one of the dvi to output to my yamaha receiver for sound and to occasionally use my hdtv as a second monitor and run the other dvi to my primary monitor. hope that makes sense.
