[PA] Consumer Reports ranks AT&T U.S. worst carrier, Verizon leads the way - Page 3

AT&T has the superior 3g network. Verizon has the superior LTE network.
Both will continue to pinch data caps. I'd love to go project mayhem on them.

LOL! I see that opinions on ATT vary a lot around here hehe ... my boss and his family (and lots of co-workers) use ATT and they just complain on coverage in buildings, but nearly never on CS ... interesting, I guess it all depends on how often you call them and whom you speak to ...

as per ATT 3G ... it' slow like hell in Manhattan ... we used a few of their USB 3G cards for laptops ... even their 4G is not much better to be honest ... try out T-Mobile if you can, they seem way faster in data speeds and cell coverage in buildings ... not sure how, but T-Mobile changed something recently and on top of general NYC data stream congestion (which is a PITA to be honest) it still looks good ... much better in NJ however, way faster speeds on 4G (less data traffic congestion I guess).

a few days ago I reached 18MBps on downloads through T-mo 4G with Samsung Galaxy S3, while in Manhattan at lunch time I get max 800KBps with same phone and service LOL!

I wish Sprint's phone service matched the quality of their customer service. I recently parted ways with them after 12 years. I got tired of their extremely sub-par network speeds (often times .1 up and down) and spotty call quality. (They lease nTelos towers in my area)

So far, I've had nothing but good things to say about AT&T. Their network, in my area, is great and data speeds exceed 8 MBPS in a frequent basis.

The 24% discount I get through my employer is also nice biggrin.gif

NOW, if that had been att, I already know they would have said "Nope, fork up the 350 bucks".

Weird, cause when my Grandfather passed on (we have At&t) there wasn't an early termination fee for his line.

Generalizations are bad, I live with them daily.

I have AT&T and I really like them. Living in New England btw. Never really had a problem with customer servive, whenever I have a problem I just go to the AT&T store at the mall and they sort it out quick and easy. Also their LTE is pretty fast, I've been getting 40 Mbps down and 15 up. Maybe it's just a region thing but I can say I like AT&T.

No way ever. I had AT&T and switched to sprint ONLY because their plans for the iPhone were cheaper. Sprint has had horrible service, (data and cellular) and terrible customer service to date. Once I get my taxes back, going straight back to AT&T, no doubt about it. Overall experience was better, coverage area was better, speeds were consistently faster across the board. You get what you pay for, even if you pay more.

wow! 40MBps down is so nice tongue.gif ... I recently took an LTE-capable phone (Samsung GS3) as I got tired with slow downloads on G2 (max 8Mbps) ... so far at home on 4G I've seen 18Mbps fastest ... I wish I could see 40Mbps somewhere:rolleyes:

They have that one pegged right,AT & T sends out huge padded fake bills randomly..and whoever pays them, pays them.Whoever disputes, doesn't.
Dishonest company is dishonest.

Where I'm at, and where I travel 90% of the time (which is up and down the eastern seaboard of the US), AT&T gets better reception than my wifes Verizon phone. Yeah, there are some places where she can get out of that I can't, but more times than not, it's the other way around.

As far as customer support, I really don't care about that. My phone just works. I don't have much of a reason to call AT&T for anything. In fact, I honestly can't remember the last time I had to call them. It's been at least 18 months ago. But when I did, I'm sure what ever issue I had was resolved to my satisfaction because I'm still with them. I haven't been under a contract with AT&T in over 4 years, I can walk at any time.

I had T-Mobile, Verizon, Helio, and AT&T. I would have to say that I been happy with AT&T for the past four years. Mom accidently left on mobile data, and data roaming when she went out of the country and AT&T customer service actually called to warn me about the $646 roaming international data charge, which they waived. Great customer service! thumb.gif
