[PA] Consumer Reports ranks AT&T U.S. worst carrier, Verizon leads the way - Page 5

I been using AT&T ever since they bought out Cingular and I don't really have much complaints with them.Only reason I might switch to Verizon is they have might have better coverage for me.

LOL never had sprint huh... Plenty of updates from Android didn't come. Hell we didn't EVER get gingerbread on some phones that were supposed to run it I was stuck with froyo when most people were running honeycomb or ICS. I can't get jellybean on my phone. Thats the problem with android. You can't just download their freaking os and put it on your phone without voiding a lot of stuff in your contract with phone carriers.

I will be leaving Sprint for either ATT or Verizon after 12 years with Sprint... Whoever gives me a better deal on a Windows 8 phone starting in feburary and to hell with the early termination fee. I'd go with Virgin but they use the same crappy non-existance 4G I get now (wi-max). I've paid for 4G service for 3 years and never gotten it. Sprint can go to hell. Their customer service is top notch.. Their service (for talking on the phone) is second to none Ive almost never been out of a service area... But god forbid you try to look up something on google or watch a youtube video.

We paid over $200 in termination fees to get out of AT&T a couple of years ago. With our iPhone 3 at the time, our 3G was horrible, our texts would randomly disappear or fail to get sent and our reception was horrible in areas of school and work where we spent most of our time. We have been relatively happy with Verizon, except that 3G has become really spotty in the Metro and Westside LA despite us not being heavy data users. We are hoping 4G LTE will fix that in the next couple of days. Especially for internet radio I often use out on the road.

I don't think there are any truly good cell phone carriers any more. They all charge too much, offer less than stellar service, and screw over their existing customers in favor of new ones.

Case in point, Verizon has absolutely no customer loyalty program any more. They used to offer the "new every two" thing as a credit for customers who renew, but that's completely gone now.

I don't get it, as keeping current customers is a lot cheaper than attracting new ones.

Been with Verizon for years, been grandfathered in with 4G unlimited, supremely satisfied customer.

Now if they could just stop clowning around and run a FioS cable to my house so I can get rid of Comcast.

The Lumia 920 is a damn good phone.

Meh. I'm sure 99% of the "worst company evar" boils down to a) where you live and b) what customer service rep you get connected with.

With Virgin Mobile, my account balance would drop when it wasn't supposed too. I had to call them up every other week to contest a charge and get it reversed. That hasn't happened with AT&T yet (At least for me).

I completely agree with your post.

I would never want to deal with ATT. Dealing with Verizon on my parents plan, I can't say I've had any issues, but I plan on going to Tmobile's $30/month no contract plan when I start paying for my own. Their merger with MetroPCS is going to be nothing but good news for their networks.

I was about to switch to T Mobile from Verizon because I was going to lose unlimited data....until I bought a new Galaxy S3 for $200. Went to Verizon to activate it, and the customer rep treated me so great. We started talking about all the new phones and stuff coming out. It was nice.

Needless to say, I felt good after walking out of the store lol.

Yea Verizon has the best service where I live and pretty good customer support as well.

I've been with ATT for several years now and I have no complaints. It really just depends on what area you live in. Where I work I usually only get service on my Verizon work phone but many people don't have the option of having both carriers. And not to mention (at least so far) ATT isn't forcing people to drop their unlimited data plans like Verizon is doing. I'm on my brother's family plan and so far we have had an over all good experience with ATT.
I also think there is no good cell phone company. They all know cell phones are a necessity and most everyone can't do without one. So they are going to charge whatever they like and change whatever they like despite the consumer. It's about the money.
As far as customer service.. that's a case by case basis in my opinion. You might just have someone who is having a bad day decides to project that on you or you could have someone who loves their job with a passion and will do anything to help the consumer.
