wait what?

Don't the 840 pros have a high die rate/ haven't been tested thoroughly???

That's why I spent all that time trying to get the 830's since they were so valued they were disappearing like hotcakes.

I said they havent been tested, but still, hmm i retract that statement, get the 830s, regardless of the price of the 840 pros.

I know I am a little late in here but check out the corsair force GS series SSD's not as good as the 840 pro but better than the 830/840 and a 128 is only $140. Just an opinion.

Noted, I'll look for it, I'd probably get two as the budget for the 128x2 was roughly 300 dollars. how are the read/write/IOP on the corsairs? I just saw one go down today online :-/ but I honestly cant say if it was THAT particular model. But I'll still look into it.

Granted R/W of the corsairs is listed as slightly higher than the samsung 830.

The main thing Im concerned with is reliability over time as the raidx0 will be my OS drive. my last rig was raid 0 and the board died so anything new that i was testing out on the raid is gone, still trying to figure out if i can actually get the data off the drives at all without the original motherboard. I think its not possible as to the controllers not being the same but this is just in conversation.

Been looking at these drives so far, mailed the 840 ( not a pro) set back hopefully they can tell me if they have any 830s in stock.

But it puts me in a somewhat nice position because I can still read more, maybe make a more informed purchase ( if that's even possible at this point)

SATA III SSD LIST----

SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 2.5 ( or MZ-...N 2.5)

Plextor M5P Series PX-128M5P 2.5" 128GB

Corsair Force Series GS CSSD-F128GBGS-BK 2.5" 128GB

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD1 2.5" 128GB

Dumb question- I still don't know if I have rights to do a poll or how to do it- cant seem to find a button for that anywhere. Any ( look here's) would be most appreciated.
