E6600/P5W DH Deluxe - Please help me fine tune the bios!

Hello,

I'm new to overclocking. I've spent two whole days trying to oc my computer! I found someone running the same processor and mb as me so I tried his settings but it didn't work. Could someone please put some values here that would result in a quick stable system? I don't need it to be on the bleeding edge, just reliable and faster than it is now.

Thanks!

Here are my benchmarks:

set your DRAM timings to SPD enabled. that should allow you to OC a little bit more.

what are your temps? what is your heatsink/fan?

i have the e6600 and the p5w too. im running 3.42GHz @ 380MHz FSB (1.36125V) with DDR2-800MHz.

My cpu is 32c and my system is 46c. I'm using the heatsink that came with the processor with one additional fan.

Hopefully I can figure out how to get mine as fast as yours!!!

Thanks,

Tim

wait let me get this straight...you are trying to up an e6600 to 3.4ghz with intel stock cooling? extra fan or not, you are outta your damn mind boy! for 1ghz boosts you need at least a big typhoon and thats assuming the ihs on the proc is flat or lapped and your BT has a baller fan and is lapped as well...

once you get much better cooling, simply follow the ocing guide for intel cpus and after you get to a certain road block, follow the fine tuning settings for frequencies posted around the forum. i think its like 100mhz and 33mhz.
