Hello,

I just started overclocking this cpu. And so far i have reached 4Ghz stable. But everything after that is a no go. I'm just wondering if i did everything correct. If you have some tips or comments, post it ! thumb.gif

I tried 1.4. But when running prime one of the cores stops working. In like 2 min. Whats the temp of your CPU when you have 100% load ?

My tip is VRM cooling. Ensure it.

Dead on! I mean 4.0Ghz with that processor is not awful, if you can keep it stable, but I looked up your board and has one crummy vrm heatsink on it. Good overclokcing boards have like 2-3 around your cpu at the top of your board, really cuts down the temps with cpu and your mobo when overclocking. I had a pos gigabyte board with my phenom back in the day and couldnt overclock very much because of the NB overheating. But if you are stable at 3.9 then I would not worry about it man.

^ AFAIK the 77TD has no VRM cooling unless you have the 77TD PRO which is 8+2 and VRM cooling I think.
