What I didn't note in the in the opening thread and I'm not sure if anyone thinks it is relevant but the 8350 still has more overclock headroom it is currently maxing at 48 degrees, the 3570k needed to be delidded to get to 4.8ghz previously it's highest was.4.6ghz and would potentially have needed to be backed down a bit because of the heat being generated.
I plan to add farcry 3 and hitman absolution tonight for the AMD rig.

State side the Intel build is going to be about 100$ cheaper.

Could add Max Payne 3
Borderlands 2
Batman Arkham city
To the test?

And add Cpu/gpu Usage Grafs for the 3570k to?

Cause for some Odd reason your results are much lower then my Sig rig results And 2 7970s should walk away from my 680s pretty easy.
Unless these games are also starting to take Advantage of HT? Anyways thx for the post + rep.

The problem is that the FX needs ALL of its 8 cores used to match the quad-core i5. Rare games do that, but thank god Windows distributes it across all them cores. In Skyrim for example, the 8350 gets raped because Skyrim only uses 2 threads effectively.
Edit: Thanks also for the thread. Real helpful. +Rep to you both thumb.gif .

Why are there no Grafs for the 3570k and its gpu use / cpu load?

I can do Max Payne3, I don't have batman Arkham city or Borderlands, if they are cheap on steam I'll snap them up and add them though. Also don't forget the 2 7970's are at stock 1050/1500, They can run at 1200 /1600 and then I am sure at that point they will run away because they scale very well.

Also I agree with you , in the US if you are a gamer the 3570K is better but in the UK for the same money you would not get a 3570 you would get a i5 34** non K model.

Absolutely I will add this, it is very easy though crossfire is rubbish on F1 2012, I checked about 2 weeks ago and I got better FPS on single card then I got on 2.

Great job at compiling a list of benchmarks at equal speeds on two often recommended gaming builds. Its nice to see the comparison and contrast of what each build will do in a gaming scenario. What is interesting is that you also chose to do the same benchmarks with the same systems with a crossfire setup, most professional reviews leave out detail like that, which is partly why I like this thread so much biggrin.gif.
