AMD FX 8350 VS i5 3570K Delidded Single gpu and Crossfire GPU - Page 5

Anyway, I just sent him over Max Payne 3, F1 2012, and Cinebench. Should be appearing at some point in the near future, when he gets his benchmarks done and up.

Personally I would have thought that hyperthreading will make a difference on games that use multithreading, in a round about way that is what the fx8350 does, ultimately it is a 4 module (4core) 8 thread chip allowing the operating system to schedule two threads or processes simultaneously. if widows is sharing the resources to the threads and the games are using more threads it should give you an advantage.

Please note this is my opinion and is based on zero facts ad has no evidence or source to back it up smile.gif

The FX8350 is 8 physical cores I believe

Thanks...rep'd

With similar systems I wish you guys could hook up a kill-a-watt and see the results as well.

From the OP it does look like to me in games that take advantage of More then 4 threads a 8350 is equal to the 3570k clock for clock in gaming.

Looking at the other perks of both chips..

8350k better in multi threaded apps and equal to 3570k in multi threaded games uses 25% more power.

3570k faster in single threaded apps / games but a little bit slower in multi threaded apps uses 25% less power.

I dont think 8350 closed the gab 8150 had with 2500k which was crazy with 2 GPUs. For one thing SD is GPU game so its pointless to compare that. Dirt is also. If anything they are cherry picked games.

It's debateable, Cinebench recognises it as a 4 core 8 thread processor which when I post the link you will see what I mean. It has 4 modules which are split in to 2 parts. On my mobo I can only run the processor as a 4 6 or 8 core processor, if they were cores they should have the option to be switched off individually like the old phenom 2's. I'm not saying I am right because AMD claim it is an 8 core processor and who am I to tell them it's not . It's just interesting how it works.

Yeah ive heard that to... Have not checked into it much...

Engineer friend of mine just got a 8350 to test out and see whats going on with it.. when he has some results i can share them with you.

But one would think if a game takes Advantage of the 8350 8 threads it would also take advantage of the 2600k/3770k 8 threads?

Looks to me like AMD got a decent cpu for the money. Did you guys noticed any bottlenecks when running Crossfire? I want to build an AMD system and so far this cpu looks like a winner to me. Thanks for the info guys thumb.gif
