OC'ing FX-8350, 990FX UD3

Thread Starter
Just got my FX-8350 in. So far, I'm stumbling over myself trying to find what a good voltage is to sit at... I was hoping to get 5ghz out of this as a stable gaming clock. I'm not sure what they're capable of, haven't had the time to read up a ton on them...

My 6100 sat stable 4275mhz with 1.467v and NB at 2700mhz and 1.38v on the CPUNB.

Anyone here have a UD3 and 8350? lol

I tried 1.467v and 4.5ghz by increasing the FSB to 225 and multi at 20... but it doesn't even last 1 second on my stability test.

EDIT: I have a Corsair H60 with 2 beastly 120's on it and fresh Arctic Silver 5, sitting at 28c.

Sounds like you need more voltage

Just did some specific stress tests using AIDA64

I lets you stress..

CPU
FPU
Cache
System Memory

I narrowed it down and the cache is what's failing only a couple seconds into the test...

I have no idea how to fix that LOL

EDIT: And now my RAM isn't stable mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

Try increasing your DRAM voltage to 1.75v . Lower the multi a tad and raise the bus;.

Holy crap, 1.75 on the RAM? This is the Samsung wonder kit 1.35v lol

I'll try 1.6v

I bumped CPU up to 1.5v with 270 FSB and 18.5 multi.

CPU is stable, Cache and memory are NOT stable.

Ram timings 8-9-9-24 1800mhz

I really don't wanna lose the cas 8 lol

It's not the RAM. I tried it at both 1.35 and 1.75 and still failed. It was the CPU all along!!! Well, either the NB, CPUNB or HT Link...

I have the RAM at 1.45v 1800mhz 8-9-9-22 and it's stable...
What worries me is the temperature of these things... Right now I have it at 1.45v, CPUNB 1.40v, FSB 225 multi 20.5 (The combo of the RAM/NB/HT link raising just threw everything off to keep RAM stable) 4612mhz

When stressed, the CPU temp goes to around 45c but the individual core temps jump to 50-55c. Are the core temps correct? I'm using aida64 extreme.
