Sli GPU issues - Page 2

In game all the clocks are the same but ONLY my new gpu down clocks to 4xxMhs then eventually 51Mhz. In fact if I can get my original card to down clock the same I would be fine with that too but the issue is that I'm not using my card IN GAME regardless of clock speeds. Temps and usage only climbs on my initial card.

But he isn't getting any load to the second card.

Try swapping the cards around. I still think it's a bad bridge though.

It was a brand new Asus bridge but will see if I got an extra. One thing I just noticed was that both card were using the same MEMORY usage but that's it, not sure if that means anything.

Which game is this? Have you tried multiple games? One reason I can think of only 1 card downclocking is that during normal windows usage, I do not believe it will utilize both cards, causing 1 to downclock. Try multiple games, as not all games support SLI.

Also, after it downclocks, once you put load on the card again does it go back to your original oc?

Do this:

1) Reset everything to defaults in the NVCP i.e. goto Manage 3d Settings/Global Settings/Click Restore
2) In the PhysX/SLI/Surround menu, make sure PhysX is set on Auto, and the box that says "Dedicate to PhysX" is UNchecked. Confirm that SLI is enabled.
3) Run the Heaven 3.0 benchmark w/everything maxed out. Record your score and observe the behavior of both GPU's in the Afterburner/Precision graphs. Do both cards clock up, show 99% usage, and both increase in temps?
4) If the answer to 3 was 'Yes', then go in and disable SLI, and do the same test again. Is your score about 50%-60% of what it was in SLI? Does only one card show usage, up-clocking, temp increases, etc?

Once you've done the above, post back (screenies of the AB graphs after teh Heaven runs, expanded to show as much info as possible would be handy) and let us know the results.

It does go back to its original OC settings but no actual load (Usage) is put on the card.

Ran the test for a little bit and the second card was working only difference I see is that the second card runs almost 20° cooler then the first.... Maybe these screen shots can explain better. Loaded up NFS MW and only one card is in use. No increase in FPS.

If you haven't tried already, reinstall the drivers (just clean install will do). Sometimes for no good reason SLI won't work after driver install but reinstall fixes it (obviously remember to enable SLI etc afterwards again).
