Believe me, after lugging any kind of weight around with on a college campus, you are going to feel it later. I suggest getting a messenger bag laptop carrying case.

I'm looking at these laptop models. I omitted the HP Probook because it had large amount of security management features that I didn't need, and one of the Samsung models because it was too difficult to find a seller.

Samsung NP550P5C ($900, 5.51 lbs): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131305

ASUS N56DP-DH11 ($794, unmodified, 6.0 lbs): http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-n56dpdh11-preorder-p-4979.html?wconfigure=yes

Samsung NP355V4-S01CA ($650, 4.9604 lbs): http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/samsung-samsung-14-amd-a10-4600m-laptop-np355v4-s01ca-silver-np355v4-s01ca/10211638.aspx

HP Pavilion g4-2235dx ($370, 4.8 lbs): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+14%22+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Sparkling+Black/6892224.p?id=1218810957932&skuId=6892224&st=Cyber_Sale_Computers_100928&cp=1&lp=7#tab=overview

I have an Asus U36SD (not sure if it's sold anymore) it only has an i3 and a GT 520M, it runs games such as WoW and Orcs Must Die 2 fine at around 30-60 FPS at 1080p (tried on monitor) and medium settings. The deal breaker here however, is that the battery can last for 10 hours. (Yeah, tested it, and it does last for 10 hours)., which imo is extreme. It means that I can go for an entire day without charging it. So a 630M or an APU should be plenty for you. I would try to get a thin, light laptop with decent battery life. It is a HUGE pain to carry around a heavy laptop on your back + books. Believe me when I'm saying this: you really, REALLY want a light laptop.

This one for example has a 640M and 8 hour battery life (though a bit on the heavy side): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215401

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834200662

Though my best advice, is to just go to a store and try different laptops there.

Yeah, that's the one.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those laptops. All seem decent. My only concern is the weight, which I can't stress enough. And battery life is not available on all of them.

The cheaper cousin the U32 i Think it is (i5, 4GB, 500GB, 520M GT) but plastic body for around 600 the battery life is rated around 6-7 hours with the gpu off.
I was looking at that laptop awhile back as well. Seems like a steal at the price. Also came with accidental warranty
