3570k overclocking inquiry

evga z77 ftw
16gb gskill ram @ stock settings
3570k
corsair h100

Best i seem to be able to do is 1.275 bios voltage(1.304+ cpu-z voltage~ during prime test load) @ 4.5ghz tested for 5 mins using these settings for prime test

1792
8192 for the amount of ram and everything else default

temps are ranging from 77-86C for the hottest core on full load

I tried everything i could think of, like increasing the vccsa, vccio and down clocked the pll to 1.709

is there anything else i can do to lower the voltage further or make it stay @ 1.275~ even under load on cpu-z?

Thanks!

I might be getting old but your vcore numbers seem way off.
I'm guessing you mean Bios Vcore is 1.275v and showing 1.304v under load?

If you want your vcore to stay as close to as what you set in Bios, you'll need to increase LLC to its most aggressive state.

Also, the way you setup the H100 could result in better/worse cooling. Do you have it in Push-Pull configuration?

If you want your rig in your sig, here's how:

thanks, did the rig builder, unfortunately 1.275 wasnt as stable as i thought, so trying to find a stable voltage again

god, oc'ing on this board is frustrating and i must be really tired because i just noticed my mistake you pointed out tongue.gif

Hmmmm......this is strange. With my humble CM 212+ cooler, my 3570k can hit 4.5ghz with maximum of 1.19 vcore with temps max at 73: considering your cooler is much better than mine, I feel as if you haven't taken the time to fully optimize your overclock.

Why is your BIOS vcore so high? 1.275? I really don't think you need more than 1.25 to run prime95 stable for 12 hours, and that's considering that not all processors are created equal. With my experiences with the 3570k, you should be able to do it with 1.2v easy. Are you ocing using an offset?

If you are happy with your 1.275 voltage and temps, just turn up LLC. If you really want to optimize your oc, I can write a short post to help you do that. I'm just weary because I don't want to sound stupid giving advice to some with over 100 more posts than me tongue.gif

hmm, from what im seeing 1.275-1.325 is pretty common

my bios doesnt have the option to adjust offset

Id love to optimize my oc if you can figure something out though smile.gif

thanks

wow cant believe i spent the whole day trying to overclock

here is the best settings i could come up with for 4.5 mhz

1.310Voltage with vdroop set to 25% to stop the spikes

i'm topping out at 87degrees on realtemp under 100% load with a h100

Meh, seems really bad but i crash even with 1.305

I last an over 5hours on prime with 1.310 though

any thoughts? helpful hints?

ive got 4.5 at 1.25
4.2 at stock voltage - 4.4 at 1.275 - 4.6 at 1.35 (which is too much for me) so I just went with 4.2 at stock voltage. LLC at 50%, also, I wouldn't touch anything other then PLL - Vcore and vRAM.
