I had to move from my HTC Desire, I bought it on launch day, to a Samsung Galaxy S3 after my carrier pushed a firmware update to the Desire. Not so shocking, the Desire developed a boat load of issues making it unusable. A large portion of me believes this update was intended to brick my phone, forcing an upgrade.
At any rate, I hate my S3, and the Desire was a far superior phone on nearly every level. Perfect size, plenty powerful, fantastic UI across the board. Dialing someone in my contacts list was super easy and quick. Sending a text or group text was just as fast, because the Desire would autofill contacts as I typed their names.
The S3, however, takes forever to dial someone in my contacts list. It won't auto find them as I dial, not to the degree of accuracy as the Desire. Then once I do have the contact I have to click the contact, then click the call button, versus the Desire calling on click....
God I hate this phone.
EDIT: OH! The S3 is also a fragile pile of crap! I literally have a crack across my screen, perfectly straight line, that happen WHILE HOLDING IT! I was reading the news and *pop*...really?! My best friend dropped his S3 from the office chair, screen smashed all to heck, as if he hurled it across the room.
My Desire? Dropped it off roofs, ladders, out of my jacket, cars....I don't know how many times it hit the ground. No cracks in the screen. Same thing with my best friends Desire (He too had to upgrade after the "update" from our carrier).
