I boot today, and it says "Reboot and select proper Boot device or Instert Boot Media in selected boot device and press key" I really don't want to do a clean install, I'd have to spend hours downloading stuff, Any ideas? OCZ Vertex 3 SSD

Make sure the drive is plugged into the Native Intel SATA port.

Make sure you have the drive selected as first boot priority.

Try this:

[*] Fix the "Bootmgr is missing" Error: (link)
[*] Restore the Windows 7 MBR (Master Boot Record): (link)

I think X58 doesn't natively support SATA III, I know I've got some Marvell controller. When I plug the SDD into a SATA III port, the controller recognizes it, but the bios doesn't. When I plug it into a SATA II port, nothing recognizes it. :/

Don't use the Marvell.

Leave the SSD unplugged for a while. Possibly power it on and off repeatedly. Check your boot priorities after...all of them, it should show.
