My apologies for the lack of updates! I've returned to work and my hours are literal hell!

The build is up and going and for the most part, I'm pretty happy.

Thus far, I've only been able to achieve a 4.3ghz overclock with what I consider to be acceptable temps (hottest core reaches about 75C). I'll assume this is because the H100i wasn't designed to handle the monster 150W TDP OF THE 3970x.

This makes me want to install a few custom loops, which leads me to my next issue, the case.

I'm not impressed with the thermal performance and back side cable management (Yes, a stupid OCD complaint). Due to the integrated fan controller (not a fan of it), there is a huge amount of unused accessory cables attached. It made cable management a nightmare and still looks like garbage. Front side looks great, however.

I'm thrilled with the CPU and GPU performance, as well as the 520 SSD's. I'm waiting for RAID 0 support with TRIM for this chipset and and Windows 8.

I've pushed the 680's to their absolute limit and achieved some stunning visuals, especially with modded Skyrim (Deadendthrills quality visuals at 60 fps)

I've also folded the last 2 nights with a combined average of around 130k ppd between the gpu's and cpu.

The headset sounds out of this world amazing for a wireless device, however is uncomfortable for extended use.

I'll be replacing the case in the near future, perhaps with an offering from case labs.

Nice system.

Why didn't you go with a Filco but a Blackwidow?

I lol'ed tongue.gif

As for the keyboard, valid point. I'm simply OK with the Razer. The w and a keys feel "different" than the others...almost like there's something stuck in the switch. Can't explain it.

I may sell it to a friend and buy a Deck keyboard. Simply put, I was being cheap.

Being cheap...funny considering.

The more I hear about people having problems with H100i the more I think about just going for a custom system. Glad the CPU is working out, not just anyone is willing to drop a grand on something like this either. Glad it's working out well for you.
