Starting Oc on a 3700

Thread Starter
Could someone give me some starter setting to bring my 3700 (stock cooling) up above 2.5 ghz? I'd really like everything. Anything that I might need. I have a msi neo4-F. Temps right now are ~32c idle. I've been in BOINC for an hour or so now and I'm at 37. Never seen myself get over 40. I have crap ram, and I've heard something about putting a divider on it.. Can someone define what a devider is?
My aspire baby.

2500ish is about all stock cooling may handle.
Considering your asking about a 3700+ and you sig system is a socket "A" we have no idea what you have to work with!
Please update you system specs.

The divider on the RAM, most MB use the known common speeds of DDR400, DDR333, DDR266, DDR200.
So by setting the default below the RAM's actual speed is using a divider.
You also have to adjust the HTT multiplyer (memory multiplyer) ... depending in the MB...
For 939 MBs
Default 200x5=1000MHz
Or some MB's use 1000 instead of the "200x5=1000"
You need to set to either 4x or 800MHz for a CPU bus speed up to about 260MHz
Beyond that drop to 3x or 600MHz

can you give me some voltages? I don't wanna blow up my processor. I dropped the ht to 4x and brought the fsb to 260. Blackscreen. Tried bringing the voltage to 1.4 (won't let me get any higher) then there's some vid boost or something. I can boost up to 20%. I can also alter NF4 voltage (dunno what that is) and Memory voltage (defaults at 2.65).

First try to get as much out of default volt seetting. Most recent 3700+ Sandys OC real well with low voltage. Test with OCCT for a good quick determination of stability. If you get any defects in the screen or fail OCCT, up the voltage a notch.
Usually you only need high 1.4ish to 1.5v range.
1.5 should be safe with a stock cooler, do keep below 50c under full load.

General guess that shoulkd work for starters.
Try DDR266 for the RAM
Memory multiplyer 4x or 800MHz
CPU bus speed 250MHz
CPU voltage 1.5
