Hello again everyone! well i recently switched to intel from AMD and i feel like the system im running is now stable and good for a while so i was thinking about going to a "custom loop" from the h100, so where should i look? XSPC is the only one i know of that has like the "starter kit" but ill look elsewhere if a better one is out there. so yeah i know some stuff about water cooling but i would like to know more and upgrade to something more substantial than an h100 (it has worked well and i like it). ill stop rambling but thanks again.

MSI Z77 MPower
Msi GTX 680 lightning
8 gigs corsair XMS3 1866

First thing I would do is replace the fans. My recommendation would be Swiftech Helix. Reason is that the cost is great, and I think they are very quiet. I was using Gentle Typhoon AP-15s on a fan controller, however, I had two of 7 I have bought with a low frequency harmonic that really bothered me. The plus is, I guess, that to deliver the same performance, any other fan would have been too loud to hear the harmonic. Anyway, I setitched to the Helix, and I did not notice any difference in water temp, and they are almost as quiet with a much easier to live with sound. This is all based on observation and listening, no real standardized testing or equipment.
For half the price, the Helix get my vote.

if you mean replace the fans on the h100 ive already done that with the corsair PE SP 120's, im looking to get a kit or something like that for more of a real custom loop. any suggestions for that?

Have you had a read of these ?

The XSPC kits are great for starting out. I started with a RX240 and X20 750 kit, which was a massive step up from the old H70.

My personal suggestion would be a EX240 kit with a D5 pump/res. combo. The D5 pump is strong and quiet, and well tested. Especially the vario type.

The XSPC razor block also performs good, not the best but good. The problem is the cost of going water is never ending biggrin.gif

If you have some free time start reading this thread we would be more then willing to help ya thumb.gif
