A 550w PSU isn't going to hold you back, you could run a 680 if you wanted to. I would look for a 7850/7870. They are currently the best bang for the buck and destroy any of nVidia's offerings in the same price bracket.

Oh man the 660 caught my eye. I am sure I can come up with $50 more. Plus I like the physx. Is the 7850 better than the 660?

I've read a lot about the radeon cards having driver issues as well. I never had an issue with my 550ti. I will mostly be playing physx intensive games (Arkham City and Borderlands 2) so unless the radeon cards really are better than the 660 I might stick with nvidia.

No, your 965 will be fine, if you do see it not using it 100% in games bump your clocks up a bit on your CPU and that should fix the issue.

the HD 7770 Ghz is not a significant upgrade to the GTX 550 Ti. get atleast a HD 7850 2GB.

exactly. a 7850 is minimum upgrade needed to see a considerable performance increase. going from 550 ti to a 7770 is like going from 7750 to 7770 . not much of a difference
