Upgrading from 550TI - Page 3

I went with the 7770 bc I only game at 1280x1024. I feel like goin the 660/7850 route would be gimpin the performance of the card. I only run one display too. My power supply would only allow me a few choices to begin with. The 7850 + my phenom would have pushed me past a comfortable wattage use. I will still be able to max out BL2 and Skyrim and a few other older games I play. I just don't see the point in buying a $200 card when I won't be using it to its max. A penny saved is a penny earned.

good choice there. 7770 will max out all games easily at that resolution.
that said The City of Auburn is considered one of the best places to live in Northern California. thumb.gif

I think the best thing about the 7xxx series is they use less power than the previous series or Nvidia cards. Considering your PSU and resolution a 7770 will meet your needs quite well.

Auburn Washington? I live in Auburn, Alabama! War Eagle!

I got Borderlands 2 installed last night and gave it a good run. Everything is on High/Ultra except for physics on Medium. Never drop below 30 FPS. This is absolutely playable. Very glad with my choice.
