Home Theather setup?

Thread Starter
I tried looking trough the various sections, but failed to see one.
I always use this place for my tech suggestions as you guys have yet to let me down.

Basically I am looking to add some speaker to my living room TV.
The smaller, the better.
Surround sound is fine, or 2.1 is fine.
Will be used mostly for TV/Movie/Music.

Budget it 500-1000.

Thanks in advance.

$500-$1000 for a 2.1? That's a bit much! Why not a 5.1? It makes for great home theater experiences thumb.gif

They had some decent black friday sales, but they're passed now. I'd recommend getting signed up for Newegg's E-mail specials if you're not already and checking there weekly, they throw up speakers all the time!

If you're only going to use them to watch movies, TV shows and so on, i would get a 5.1 surround system package.

First package is a full set and it's this yamaha set. It has a good receiver so you can upgrade the speakers in the future.

Or you can buy the receiver and speakers separately and you should get more sound for your money this way. Example: This receiver with this speaker set.

But if you listen to music, say more then 50-60% i would go for a 2.1 setup as it should get you the best possible sound quality for the money.

Either or works, the biggest issue if I do go surround sound would be the wires.
I would want wireless, on a 2.1 this is not as important.
