Really the requirements for the game where what set it apart from all the other generic FPSs of the day. It was a huge disappointment that they backed away from that with C2. However if they return to it for C3 then it just may be a household (overclocking household) name as a go-to stress test for a system again.

Is this alpha requirement or what? I wonder how can Bulldozer considered as High Performance? Probably Cry Engine 3 is bias towards Bulldozer just like how Frostbite 2 bias towards Nvidia card. biggrin.gif

If anything, this may be a truly well threaded game. I know Crysis 2 seemed to eat as many threads as you could throw at it

Actually CryEngine does better on AMD GPU's, not CPU's. Look up pretty much any Crysis bench with current-gen cards and AMD holds a solid lead.

This. C2 uses all of my FX-8320's cores. thumb.gif

There's no bias towards any kind of cards in any game. Both companies use shaders, ROPs, memory, and even the exact same manufacturing process now. Drivers are why performance differs. Now, "Frostbite 2" (Battlefield 3) runs just as good on a $200 7850 as a $230 660. In fact, the 7850 can turn up the AA and res because of the slightly better back end (ROPs, memory bandwidth). biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Chances are it's just going to be Crysis 2 all over.
