Dead PS2 Ports?

Thread Starter
I just tried plugging my Dell keyboard into my PS2 port, and it didn't detect it. I accidentally plugged it into the mouse port, and when that didn't work, I plussed it into the other slot (low light, I know I'm dumb)

Then I tried my Dad's PS2 keyboard, that didn't go either.

So is my PS2 port dead? My USB mouse still worked perfectly, and the computer still worked fine.

Thanks,

May not be dead...However Give it a blow inside the port and give it another go. Something else that can fix is by doing this..No kidding.

1. Power down your system.
2. Unplug it from the main power ( At PSU )
3. Hold down the on botton on your case twice for 5 seconds.

Reconnect your system.

Make sure you didn't bend any pins. If you did then bend 'em back and it should hopefully work fine.

Yes at the Keyboard end. However if they are fine try carefully looking at your PS2 Slot if you can see any damage.

Look in your BIOS for your PS2 ports being disabled my buddys motherboard came with the PS2 disabled for some reason.

I experienced something similar with my NF7-S, the Mouse/Keyboard ports were inverted, fixed the issue with a BIOS flash. Just my exp, maybe you should think about it as a very last resort.
