My firend has xonar & he actully said he thought the R3con may be better but I didn't know but, I am eventually going to step up the sound to something better thumb.gif just not right now as the budget is up in devil.gif I haven't even tried the onboard yet but I will experiment with it to see what ist does. As for the foil tape, I almost got it in the mirror finish but decided on this style specool.gif . It only cost $4.99 a roll & I completed it with one roll. I stated in the build not to place it behind the motherboard simpy because it's foil & if it were to become unattched & fall against it, it could short it out therefore I added some superglue in areas to make sure it doesn't happen. I had a few other ideas about the surfaces inside the case that reflect the light but I'll keep my notes in the build log for the next system build & possibly have more time to do some really mind blowing things drool.gif .Back to the sound card Q & A, what is the best in your opinion?

My favorite would be the Titanum HD, from creative. I was really surprise because Creative is more about gaming audio and 3d positioning, but I was really surprised by this one. I did not have the chance to listen to it for a long time though, but I was really enjoying the sound that it was producing.

As for the best, well it's a little bit harder to define since it really become subjective (after a certain price point, of course) when it comes to audio. For instance, neither the Xonar STX or the Titanum HD is going to distort your sound or make your games sound bad, but they both have a different sound signature that you may or may not like.

Nice build, great article documenting it all
Horrid case color scheme tho, it's really awful.

Saying that you've done a great job on it though and hell, you like the colours that's good enough mate
All in all bloody well done

I didn't know if you recieved this card with your motherboard but it shows all the references to the expanion slots & the configurations available, Notice the 16X, 8X & the NATIVE.

The following is how I selected to set mine up!
