1. it has worse battery life
2. it has worse sound quality
3. it take's forever to get software updates, if i get them at all
4. it has a bunch of crapware
not to to say there aren't nice android phones out there. sure, it's pretty zippy, especially for the price, but the poor battery life dooms and relative bulkiness dooms it in my eyes.
as a platform, the problem with android is that apparently they can't fix #3+4 because of the idiotic carriers. which is not to say i would never buy another android, but i wish google would fix this problem.
Solution is to get a nexus phone or root and flash a custom ROM.

Two years from now, when non-Nexus phones like the SGS3 and HTC One X are all long-forgotten about, a Nexus phone will still be getting Android updates straight from the source: Google. I have a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2 and it is definitely faster in use compared to a SGS3 filled with carrier bloatware, even though the SGS3 has newer, faster hardware. The Nexus 4 at only $299 is a steal for an unlocked Nexus device.
I will never get a non-Nexus Android phone again.
This.

The jellybean gui exists, to fuel yearly google phones sales.

People use to buy phones once every 5 years... and expensive worthwhile phones, made by companies that knew quality. Now a vast majority of the children, only know throw-away stuff.

As you can see, anything Android is simply cheap throw-away stuff..  they are disposable.
Like another said here,  : "What is the point, my cell phone can do the same..!"

So what is the point of this $99 tablet?
Other than being dirt cheap (that even a 5th grader w/paper route can own), why?  Again, other than saying you own a tablet why bother with it..? Most people with bother with it, is because they can now claim they own something.
Unfortunately, ownership based on need...

But Google creates a want...  via marketing.  The fact that it is $99 bucks and several ******* here, said they want it based solely on price, illustrates adolecent behavior. What does this tablet do for you, that your fandroid phone doesn't?

Can we laugh now?

What does this Asus tablet have to do with Google?

I clearly define between the two...  and can easily tell you why both manufacturers and OS fail in certain aspects, over Apple's, or MS's ecosystem.

Google has no control on the quality of their phones and the GUI is piecemeal. LG, Motorola, HTC, etc.. don't roll out new version of Google's Android, because the updates do nothing for their end-users.

Quickly tell us the major diff between Jelly bean and ICS..   & is that a reason your Mom ran out the next day to buy a new phone..?

Latest is that it's $149, not $99 as originally rumored?

Are you confusing reality with your inability to self-rationalize? I have owned more Android products than nearly anyone here.. all garbage. Perhaps many of you do not have the experience with electronic components over the last 20+ years, to make accurate judgments. Perhaps you're just newbies, or young kids with their first phones and are ultra-facinated by them?

Because an adult would recognize a $99 tablet... as throw away.

I have thrown every Android product I had, in a drawer or smashed them, before buying a new one. That is 7 phones, 3 tablets.. anyone have me beat? (I am single, zero children and each device was used/abused by Me). Not to mention, owning an Apple iPhone too. Point was, I have had the same cell # for 23 years and only in the last 5 years was there a need to keep buying more & more due to cheap quality phones perpetuated by Android ecosystem. Granted, in the last 5~6 months quality has been a concern and newer phones & tablets are alot better.

Again... if my words hurt you^, then perhaps it's because your fragile ego is stepping-in to defend your buying decision..(?) As there is little to argue, with the fact that both Apple & Microsoft offer real product with their Operating Systems..!

If u have never used an iPhone, or a WinRT device, then u r unable to have an opinion, or a rebuttal.

PS: sorry to thread crap, but claiming I am a "hater", when I have the ability to separate emotion from my purchases is absurd!  Those who love Android, do so because they are emotionally attached to their device.... (ie: Fandroids)

(Q: If Win8 phones/tablets were Free, would you use that as your only phone/tablet?)

I owned multiple iphones...seems to me like you are stuck in a little apple bubble. Exactly how they want it. Dumbed down, and waving money around.
