Huh?

You can use Sony Ericsson's PC Companion on my phone to update the official SE release, and carrier won't say crap about it.

This just looks like an OS with Android/iOS icons at the bottom with Windows Phone tiles at the top.

I see nobody standing in a few years except ios, Android, and WP8/9/10

Windows Phone was released in 2010 I believe

I had two WM phones, they sucked. Jolla is the successor of Meego, COMPLETELY different than WP8, iOS and Android. And unlike those 3, it, like WebOS, are much more intuitive experiences for touch based devices. I am actually a little shocked that so few have even mentioned the N9 or Meego, given that this is a software and technology forum.

Install child protection locks and your done.

Been looking at that, but it fails one of my biggest wants/desires ... No 4G speed.

It's a 3G only phone ... which is no better than my iPhone and tethering.

The new Rugby is nice, still no 4G LTE, but it is HSPA+21 speed, and that is how I might go, but I'd rather have just a plain phone.

Using the Speedtest.net app, the Rugby Smart delivered a 2.4 Mbps average download speed with 900 Kbps uploads. By comparison, the HTC Vivid notched 21.6 Mbps down and an upload rate of 11.1 Mbps, while the LG Nitro HD averaged 23.8 Mbps down and 5.7 Mbps uploads.

Um...Meego was around before WP, right? Even if it wasn't, it's definitely not a WP clone...maybe do some reading of the actual article?

Meego didn't have the metro-y widgets.

So? This is an evolution of Meego...the point of both is to increase ease of use and intuitiveness. Putting interactive widgets is their perogative to achieve those goals. Just because the panels remind you of metro doesn't mean it isn't a unique feature. Look at how Meego managed apps, as tiles. Metro-y? Maybe not the same visual experience, but would you really expect them to just keep Meego a generation behind, visually?
