I have the space for the m8. It will sit on my new desk. I'll have storage cabinets above my lower cabinets so the m8 being shorter is pretty nice.

In the end, I went with the M8, space was not an issue.
Always wanted a double wide case, more room for expansion if I want to upgrade my current (2) 360 rad setup.
Oh and also, the ability to house lots of HDDs was important for me, another reason to go with the M8.

I think I'm leaning toward this one also because of the extra growing space.

You might have an easier time with wire mgmt in the M8 and be able to use the stock cables you already have. I don't have an SM8, but the STH-10's HDD cages that came with it, that is like the SM8's, was not friendly towards the 90 degree elbow sata data cables that came with my motherboard when I stacked the drives together. Maybe it is ok with SM8, but I'm sure it will be much cleaner with the M8 seeing how you can install the HDD's in the other chamber with the PSU.

It doesnt look like you would be able to have a optical drive in the top bay with a 360 rad?(in the M8)
