also, make sure those little Switches are off as well as Core Unlocker and Turbo. i know you've turned off C1E and Cool & Quiet.
here is a guide . . .

Silly question, but where would I find the LLC option? I was going through my bios this morning and didn't notice LLC... is there any other name for it?

it's a deneb..http://www.overclock.net/t/777378/official-gappos-little-deneb-thuban-overclocking-guide-with-too-many-smileys/0_100

should OC ok..LLC=Load-Line Calibration
It's in the "tweaker" area thumb.gif

Dang guys, I just tried all of the methods, but I may have to wave the white flag here frown.gif I don't even know what else to do. It might be a bad cheap. Here are some pictures of the settings on bios:

I even tried to change the CPU voltage to 1.48v but it quickly climbed to 72c and crashed frown.gif

Read the thread, he said he had a 212.

OP: @ 45C you still have a little under 10C to pump more voltage and frequency through your chip.

I echo everything people said about gappo's guide + overclocking the CPU/NB (the memory controller on the die). I had a 955 and pushed it to 4.2ghz, load 53C-55 @ 1.44v with 60-78F ambients on a 212+ with just the blade master. On a 970a-ud3, 8+2 power phase.

Nobody points out that he totally bypassed the route to get getting to 4.0GHz

You don't just change the multi set the voltage to max change a few other settings and pray.

When your CPU hits its wall you will need substantial amounts of extra voltage to just go 50MHz further. You need to find that wall before you chase down 4GHz. Did you stabalize 3.9 and 3.8GHz yet?

Also when you over clock you overclock one thing at a time. In fact I usually recommend underclocking anything questionable so for example your ram. Even if it is 1600MHz set it to 1333 till you find the max your CPU can do. As for the NB increasing its speed will greatly increase the read write copy speed of your ram it is a noticable increase but should be left at stock while trying to find your CPUs max.

Also is this OC just for fun and getting a cpu validation or do you plan on daily driving it. The reason I ask is if your CPU comfortably runs 3.8GHz say at 1.4v and it takes you 1.5v or more to get to 4GHz is that really going to be worth it too you (asside from recording your cpu validation).

When you OC I usually recommend your do a couple things. Find how high your CPU will go at stock voltage write it down. Then start uping the voltage lil by lil and and uping the multi try to at least stabalize and test every 200MHz I do every 100MHz (skip the first 300-400 usually though.

It takes time and patience. It just spent 2 nights figuring out the best cpu and ram clock for my wifes computer for all day everday running.

I plan on daily driving it. I guess for now I will try and just increase the multiplier about 100Mhz at a time on stock voltages and see where it hits its wall. I was just wondering if I could get to 4.0Ghz because a kot of people OC their 955BE and 965BE to 4.0Ghz no sweat. I guess this is a bad chip frown.gif

When I tried those OC numbers on the pic, I was idling at 48c and then when i ran prime, It quickly climed to 75c and crashed. Now that I'm back on stock clocks and voltages, my idle is about 24-25c.

can you try lowering theCPU vcore to around 1.38 - 1.4v? everything else the same.
