That's not really necessary. Don't get me wrong the Matrix is a great card but you are paying a $100 price premium for a very little performance gain. Really the Matrix is made for enthusiasts/overclockers who don't really care about price and just want the very best money can buy. For just normal gaming use a basic aftermarket card like the DCII, TwinFrozer III or a windforce x3 will do just as well.

7970 can run both games at Ultra at 60fps @ 1080p (MSAA off) , for me at stock Farcry 3 is about 50ps @ 1440p everything maxed. Same with Crysis 2 - about 60fps unless i crank the MSAA.

Turn them off and maybe switch to SSAO instead of HBAO and you should get 80fps+ at 1080p. Also have the option to overcock, most 7970s will hit 1100mhz pretty easily..

Just get a 7950 and overclock it, a 7950 is only around 3-5% slower than a 7970 at the same clocks and destroys a 670.

I wasnt giving you the option of a pair of 6850's tongue.gif I was comparing their performance in crossfire to current gen cards and telling you what would fit your needs.
I played both games and taking in consideration that they got VRAM bottlenecked they never went below 40fps's maxed out on both games in a 1080p screen, so I believe you would be able to run it without big issues with a 7850, I would consider a 7950/670 to make sure it stays above the 60Hz refresh rate most of the time thumb.gif

I understand, what i meant was that is cross-fired 6850's would suit my needs then I'd would be very willing to look into those. I just wanna cover as much ground as I can biggrin.gif

^this. OP get yourself a Sapphire HD 7950 boost . at stock matches matches GTX 670. overclocked HD 7950(1.15 Ghz) is faster than GTX 670(1.3 Ghz).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006

another option is the sapphire HD 7970 OC. 360 after rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008

i would recommend the sapphire hd 7950 boost. very positive user reviews with most hitting 1.1 - 1.15 Ghz at stock voltage.

OP all of those suggestions are good... it kinda dosent matter what you chose any of the either 7950 or gtx 670 it will run it just fine...
BUT!!!!
what i am about to say is a thing of personal preference but i would rather go with 2 amd 7850 direct cu2 v2 TOP and you can find one for about
200€ where i come from and we have some of the highest prices... anh why would suggest that, well its simple i rather play fps an driving games
on three displays and with a single gpu you aint gonna go far unless you damp down the settings or buy the 7990...
either way its:
-something in the range of a 7850-7870 in CF if you wanna run a tripple display
-or a 7950 almost any aftermarket card will do (you can also OC beyond the preformance of the 7970)
-or if you want a nvidia card... dunno go for a 670 since the 680 would be pushing your budget a bit
