best way extend Wifi without repeater - Page 2

@ zomgiwin wow thats too HxC.
Unfortunately my router has one of those internal omni ones so the antenna hack wouldn't work.

If that is the case, i think an extender will work fine for casual internet usage and powerline for streaming.
But for knowledge sake, what is the best way for full coverage at house with fullspeed? would you just have multiple networks from poverlines+ router with overlaping areas? and then you could do some IP thing so they can 'see' each other?

thanks guys

those waveshooters were all3ns, i was just quoting him lol...

aaanyways, the best way (if possible, doesn't sound like it here) to extend the network, is to have multiple APs connected to the same physical network, with the same settings and SSIDs, just different cannels (with three APs, 1, 6, 11 are best, 1, 11 for two) then the network will be presented as one, but devices will connect to the strongest signal automatically, i have yet to test how clients handle switching from one to the other, but i plan to do that soon (start voip call on one end where one AP reaches, walk past it until only the other APs are within range, see if call drops)

i'm not sure how well that sort of setup would work with the "extender" APs connected over powerlines, but i would think it would still work well, but of course, limited to the throughput of the powerline adapter
